CalMAN License Policy

Professional License

A Professional License is required for professional use.
CalMAN Home and Enthusiast licenses are valid for individuals calibrating their own equipment at home.  A CalMAN Professional license is required for any other use.   

Examples of uses that require a Professional license:

Professional video calibration service  — You charge a client money for calibrating a display. 

Corporate enterprise  —  You are a corporate entity rather than an individual. 

Commercial use —  You use CalMAN in the course of your business.

The Professional License supports all hardware and enables all features.
Features enabled only in the Professional version include:

- Custom report design
- Maintain customer contact information in customer database            
- Customer fields in layouts and reports
- Display fields in layouts and reports
- Setup fields in layouts and reports

The Professional License automates the use of pattern generators.

Home License

The Home License supports one specific kind of meter. 
The Colorimeter Home license supports only the tristimulus colorimeters listed in the meter support matrix, and no other meters.  (For example, it does not support the EyeOne Pro, ColorMunki Design or Photo or the Hubble.)  

The Spectroradiometer Home license supports only the spectroradiometers listed in the meter support matrix, and no other meters. For example it does not support the EyeOne Display2 or LT, Chroma5 or the Spyder3.

If you switch meter types, spectroradiometer to colorimeter or colorimeter to spectroradiometer, you will need to purchase an additional license to support the different meter technology. 

Home license exclusions
The Home license does not automate the use of pattern generators.
The Home license excludes the Professional features mentioned above.
The Home license is valid only for personal use on your own displays. 
The Home license is not transferable. 

Enthusiast License

The Enthusiast License supports multiple meters. 
The Enthusiast license supports all the meters supported by various home licenses, including the EyeOne Pro, the Chroma 5, the colorimeters listed in the meter support matrix, and the X-rite Hubble.

The Enthusiast License supports the new CalMAN DPG-1000
The Enthusiast license allows you to automate whole measurement sequences using the DPG-1000, the first Digital Pattern Generator.

Enthusiast license exclusions
The Enthusiast license does not allow you to automate the use of pattern generators other than the DPG-1000.
The Enthusiast license excludes the Professional features mentioned above.
The Enthusiast license is valid only for personal use on your own displays. 
The Enthusiast license is not transferable. 

License Notes

The Professional, Home, and Enthusiast licenses are all single-user. 
All licenses described here are for use only by one individual.  Contact sales@spectracal.com for site licenses and studio licenses. 

All licenses may be installed on more than one system
All licenses allow you to use CalMAN on more than a single computer -- for example, on your desktop and on your laptop. 

Only the Professional License is transferable.
The Professional license may be sold, with proper notice to SpectraCal.  The Home License and the Enthusiast license are not transferable. 

All software sales are final.
