Poynton's Vector by Charles Poynton

Charles PoyntonWe are very pleased to be able to announce that Charles Poynton, color science authority and author of the textbooks the whole video industry relies on, is now writing a monthly column for SpectraCal called "Poynton's Vector." In the column, Charles covers a wide range of video topics, with the goal of bringing hard science to topics often previously hashed out only by seeing who could shout longest in the forums.

The goal of "Poynton's Vector" is one that has been central to SpectraCal since our founding: making the best technical information more generally available to a wider audience. Although these columns contain precise technical information, they're written for a general audience. We hope you find that they clear up concepts that were previously cloudy and obscure, and we hope that you find that what you learn here helps you perform better calibrations.

In addition to writing the columns, Charles has graciously agreed to handle follow-up questions in the SpectraCal support forums. (Forum)
